Surface typecover

Hi all. I've had a surface pro 8 with the official type cover for approximately a year and it has been fine with no issues. Unfortunately my type cover has now suddenly stopped working and I can't get it to work again. I've looked in the device manager settings under keyboard but this lists a HID keyboard. Removing it hasn't made any difference. Has anyone else had this issue and managed to get there's working again. Its a pain using the on screen keyboard...

Have you tested the type cover on another Surface Pro 8? Or the other way around, tested another type cover on your Surface Pro 8?

Unfortunately I don't know anyone else who has one to test it

Can't you just go into a store and test it?

Try cleaning the contacts on the cover and where it connects to the Surface using a pencil eraser.
