Syncing between devices

I ordered my Surface 2 Pro last month on the first day. Since then have been using my laptop to install all of the modern UI apps that I think I want on the Surface. Am I correct in saying when I first login to the Surface that it will port over all applications installed on my laptop?

Sync settings between PCs - Microsoft Windows Help

Sync is for settings, not getting the apps themselves. You can log into the store on your new device and... I forget the exact sequence, but you'll be able to see all the apps you've downloaded before and can install them all that way, I believe. You'll have to log into both with your Microsoft account.
