USB ports sleep when locked?

Is anyone using an ethernet dongle? If you lock the machine and leave it running, are you noticing the network drops when you log back in? I am wondering if the usb ports go to sleep but I cannot see the settings under power advanced.

I have not experienced this. I have an Unitek USB 3.0 hub dongle with an Ethernet port - no such problems here even on battery.
