Why do so many video sites not work?

I know a lot of flash sites have to manually entered in the compatibility .cv file. But why will a lot of site's videos not run on my surface, yet they run perfectly on my wife's iPad? If that's true then they must not be flash driven. And if so, why? This is most frustrating and is a big reason my Surface could be going back to the Microsoft store.

Case in point, this video shows up as an x on my surface but works great on the ipad. There are many many more similar encounters, this is just an example: http://benchcrafted.blogspot.com/2013/01/the-portable-full-size-safari-ready.html

When i try to load videos from many web page, some of them are not working. I will buy the Surface pro

looks like api.smugmug.com works =)

This is because of the whitelist, so you have to actually get the site where the video is being hosted at. For the iPad, it doesn't support flash unless you do some workaround browsers that do support them.

Oh for Gawd sakes. I was using Safari on the iPad not some special browser. This may be the straw that breaks the camels back.

I'm sitting at my main Win8 desktop and watched the video. My surface is here too and I just pulled the video link up and it plays just fine on my RT.
