Windows defender update is not updating

Anybody know how to either skip this one (hide it from updating) or know how to get it to install?

I had that same problem. I suspect it will get fixed by MS. It isn't your Surface at fault.

I also had a similar issue with the same update for defender on my surface pro 4. The only difference was mine would install and every time I rebooted it would install again without any errors. The way I fixed it was by opening the windows defender application and then click on the update tab and try updating it thought there instead of windows update. That's what worked for me. Give it a try and see if it works.
