I did the hack method and it worked for me. Didn't have any issues at all, but it did take about an hour to complete though. I did this on my HD7.

Like I mentioned in my previous post, it takes a long while for it to complete. Ignore all the reboots and when you think the upgrade is over, it's not. You will actually get a YOU PHONE IS COMPLETE-type message. That's when you know it's complete.
