    Hi,
I have a surface book with all current firmware updates etc installed.

On 2.4GHz wifi network, at full signal it only goes as high as 144Mbps. Is anyone seeing more than this? I am using a Netgear R7800 router and have tried changing channels, etc.

Is this machine limited to 144Mbps on 2.4 GHz networks and am I wasting my time changing settings etc trying to increase this? I have an ancient dell machine here that connects at 300!

    thanks

I've seen higher than 300 on different networks.

Now I'm at 270Mbps. But I am a couple of rooms away from the access point.

Woo Hoo! I'm screaming along at 54 Mbps here at work due to ancient infrastructure. But, at home I can get 300.
