WinToGo USB boot on Surface Pro 2

I have a Windows 8.1 x64 WinToGo USB drive formatted to NTFS. I have followed all of the directions with booting to USB but Surface will not boot up WinToGo. I have seen some statements about the USB has to be formatted to FAT32, is that correct? Why doesn't Surface Pro 2 boot NTFS WinToGo?

thanks!

Ok I changed the drive formatting to Fat32, disabled secure boot and UEFI but Surface still will not boot from the USB WinToGo drive. Any ideas?

You can try this hold the Volume Rocker Down while powering up to enable USB Boot or the Other Way is Advanced Boot Options. You shouldn't need to disable Secure Boot.

Jeff thanks for the reply. When I had reformatted the USB to Fat32 the tool corrupted NTDLR so essentially I reformatted the USB and started over. Surface will now boot the USB.

Thanks!
