2 position kickstand from surface pro 2 on surface pro 1

anyone see a problem doing this? I would love the two position kickstand but dont want to have to purchase another surface pro.

I contacted ms and they are saying this is not possible

I emailed ifixit to see what they think

It's not possible. You'd need an entirely different chassis because of the way the body is created (3-piece on the 1st gens and 2-piece on 2nd gen). The hinge mechanism is part of the chassis. You're much better off buying a cheap third party case with multiple angles.

I would like to know if it was possible just to buy the kickstand on its own, it's the only place I have a scratch on mine! Can I ask, who was it you contacted at Microsoft? Thanks.
