I've got a Surface Pro that I mainly use for notes and browsing, and I've been trying to find a lighter way to put together small app ideas without setting up a full development environment. Most of what I do is just sketching layouts and testing basic logic, so a browser-based tool that runs well on the Surface screen and touch input would be ideal. My main concern is performance on the Pro when a project gets a bit larger, plus whether these AI-assisted builders handle syncing or offline use reasonably. I'm also unsure how well they work with the on-screen keyboard when I'm away from my desk. If you've used any AI app builder alternatives on a Surface, how did the experience hold up for you, and were there any dealbreakers with battery life or heat? Would appreciate hearing what has actually worked.
Update after looking around more - Best Replit Alternatives (2026) kept coming up while I was comparing browser-based options for my Surface. Still unsure whether any of them hold up on battery and heat once a project grows, so I haven't picked one yet.
