Automatic updates disabled

Somehow my automatic updates was disabled and I haven't gotten a Pro 3 update since 7/7. Also my Defender is OFF and it won't let me turn it back on. I have an administrator account still am not able to update the settings. Can anyone help with this?

First check for malware with malwarebytes.

Since Defender is disabled, do I need to install another virus/malware program to check for them?

I'm considering doing a reset back to an earlier date or a complete reset.

The idea is that you should install something like Malwarebytes to see if there is a virus etc on your system that has turned off updates and defender, and is now blocking you from enabling them so that the virus is not removed.

After you install it, update the database then run the scan

tried it and updates are still disabled and Defender is still off

time for a reset?
