Calendar App Help

I have a Surface 2 Pro and I sync'd my exchange mail. My mail, contacts and calendar sync'd fine. The only problem I am having is when I create an event in the calendar app and submit it, it will not sync to my desktop outlook calendar. However, when I create a event and invite someone, it sync's to my desktop. I need it to sync without inviting someone. Any and all help will be appreciated.
