But give Alt+TAB a try again. A quick Alt+TAB switches to the next app. Holding the Alt and cycling with TAB rolls through thumbnails.
If you're using a keyboard, this may be the best way for you to snap over to your email, or File Explorer, or Desktop, or Browser, or game.
