Hello everyone,
I've been reading a lot this forum since I got my SP3 and I decided to open an account to share my experience, help others and ask questions as they come. I'm an IT specialist working as a self employed consultant. I needed to replace my work laptop and wanted to get a machine that is mobile and powerful. I'm not a brand addict (I own an Iphone) but I'm looking at something as integrated as possible.
I was charmed by the form factor of the device and what convinced me to buy it was the pen that could let me take meeting notes without the need for a notebook (I have around 10 notebooks at home with different notes from different contract). This device let me discover the power of OneNote and I'm now using it daily. The fact that I can search my notes for some information instead of turning pages of my notebooks is a big plus.
I also like the fact that if something bothers me, I can modify it to fit my needs. As an example, even with the palm rejection when writing, since I'm left handed, I lift my pen a lot to see earlier typing and as soon as I lift the pen, the palm rejection is re-activated. To solve the problem, I created a powershell script that deactivate the touch screen so I can use only the pen and the keyboard. Once I'm done, I just reactivate the touch screen and everything works as intended. If you want to get it and implement it on your device, let me know and I'll make a post.
Sorry for the long first post but I'm quite excited with that device and I forecast a lot of work being done on my SP3.
Thank you
Francis
