Solved Hibernation vanished

In the last couple of days / week my Surface 3 has stopped hibernating automatically - and only sleeps. This leads to rapid battery depletion.
I'm really puzzled as all the hibernation settings are correct under advanced power management.
The Surface also won't enter hibernation when its manually selected as a power-down option on the power on/off menu. The option is there but when selected does nothing.
Is this the result of a recent update - has it happened to anyone else.

Hello, @Conyers

Indeed, this may be due to an update, as long as you have not connected or configured any new hardware to your Surface 3.

Have you tried to Cold Boot?

COLD BOOT SURFACE
1) Press and hold Power for 25 seconds. Don't release early.
2) Hold Power and Volume Up until "Surface" logo is displayed. Release both buttons.
3) Exit and Save the Surface UEFI options after making no changes.

Let us know.

Hi
Thanks for the advice.
I've ended up restoring windows via the Recovery Options on the update history menu - and that has worked. Its still working after re-installing all the updates.
