Solved Hitting Power Button Completely Shuts Off

For some reason, when I tap the power button, the surface is completely shut of whereas it has historically gone into a standby mode. Now, when I go to turn it back on, it boots up showing the Surface logo. Any idea how this could have happened and how to correct it?

Did you check your control panel settings?

Go to: Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Power Options -> System Settings

Mine is set, when the power button is pressed, go into sleep mode. You should have 3 options there, Sleep | Shutdown or Do nothing.
