HOSTS for adblocking, and more!

I have seen a lot of people discussing how they love customized hosts files, which they use to get better blocking of ads and unsecure connections.
So today I tried using an Hosts file on the Surface RT, and it works exactly is it does on a PC, it even blocks ads in videos (YouTube anyone? :D).

I used this source for my hosts file as it seems to be very popular. Blocking Unwanted Connections with a Hosts File (Here you also can read a better description of how it works)

If you want to try this, just download the hosts file from the source. Then you go to C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc, and replace your original one. If you want to keep your old hosts file just rename it to hosts.old or after your liking.

And this will block ads and unwelcome connections. I believe they update the hosts file regularly so you will need to replace it when they do, if you want the newest blocking lists.

Best regards FFX.
