How can I navigate Surface UEFI on a Surface Pro 4 with a faulty touch screen?

How can I navigate Surface UEFI on a Surface Pro 4 with a faulty touch screen (and no proper keyboard)?

The wireless USB mini touch/keypad that I've been using in Windows doesn't work in the UEFI. I thought I might be able to navigate the menu using the volume buttons for up and down and the power button for select, but that does not work.

Is there any other way I can do it?

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping a wired USB keyboard would work. I don't think I have one in the house but will borrow one from someone later and give it a try.
