Just came across this last night...

Lenovo reveals ThinkPad 8 Windows 8.1 tablet - Neowin

1080p 8.3" display with 2.3GHz BayTrail and full Windows...

Saw a video about it (can't remember where). Seems to be VERY nice.

Looks like a great machine, if didn't already own an SP2 I would definitely consider it (although I question the utility of full Win8.1 on an 8.3" tablet - why not release an RT-only version?). Much nicer than the Venue 8 as long as you can give up an active digitizer IMHO. There's some nice features that don't get listed in the official fact sheet. Check the video:

As best as I can tell the T8 is NOT available for sale yet even though it is said to be available in the video

Looks damn good! But I think full Win 8.1 will be a bit of an overkill for me given my specific use scenario. I wish they would provide an option where I could choose which flavour of Win OS I would want on the device (and give me a corresponding discount!).

Ohhh...I did not realize that! That is indeed a bummer. It would have been a close to perfect machine.
