B bluegrass Well-Known Member Oct 23, 2014 #2 Welcome to the forum Elizabeth. Have you tried recording with a different app or a different mic. I haven't read any posts yet talking about recording from a mic on the Surface. Frankly, I have never tried to record vocal with a mic on my Surface.
