I don't think it is my imagination that 14257 is a speed improvement, even over the speedy 14251. Perhaps some background services or machine polling have been optimized.

still no update here for me

EDIT: Reboot and click click click then it appeared

Installed Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview Build 14267.rs1_release.160213-0213 a day ago.

Works great.

Cortana now listens for music.
Edge is faster not fatter.
Edge can clear data by default on exit.
Edge organizes favorites better, and can reduce the Favorites Bar to icons only.
Windows bootup and Hello is super fast.

Anyone having the boot up problem in build 14267 where the first boot shows only the surface logo without the dotted ring revolving and you have to do a hard restart to it to boot up normally?

You're on the Fast Ring. It was stated that anyone on the fast ring should expect more and more bugs and issues as it is very close and getting closer to the internal builds. If you have other software installed it's difficult to tell why. I have a non production system on that fast ring release and had no issue with the restart.

@nnthemperor

This is a known bug with 14267 which can happen on all devices, not just Surface, caused by interference with non-Windows startup processes the user has installed.

Thanks sharp. I held off installing 14257 until I read that most of the bugs have been corrected in 14267. I guess not all then.

The speed improvement makes it worth the trouble to me. I just take the extra step when rebooting.
