OneNote Save location best practices

Currently my notebooks are saved to the documents folder on my SP4. A link is saved in OneDrive, but not the entire file. Is it recommended to leave the defaults alone? I am thinking of saving the actual notebook files to the OneDrive folder so in the event my SP4 is lost/broken/etc, I can retrieve my actual files. What doesn't make sense is that I thought OneDrive is supposed to store my files, however I only have links in my OneDrive folder.

Hello,

What you can instead try is, sync the Documents folder that stores your notes with OneDrive.
That way, all your notes would be uploaded to OneDrive by default.
