Good question. I've looked at battery report many times--never occurred to me to "reset" the stats. What kind of "nonsense" are you referring to? Seems like it should tell you something about the replacement's history or status.

It's possible there are registry entries containing data powercfg consults and you might be able to change the reported stats. I haven't tried to look for such data, so I don't know what there is to find.

Sure looks like the "batteryreport" that I've seen on my SP2! As formatted in your message, it's harder to decipher than viewed in the browser.

Probably the most relevant information is contained in the "Installed batteries" section. It shows battery capacity of 40,078 mWh and "Cycle count" at 5. With only 5 power cycles, the battery is barely used. Capacity is similar to what my SP2 shows, though (at full charge) the number fluctuates between ~40000 and 41000.

I did notice some strange entries in the "Battery capacity history" section, where it says "2014-07-14 187,598 mWh 101,048 mWh". Obviously the battery doesn't have that much capacity. I've seen similar results in the report. The one I ran today shows a battery life estimate:
2014-05-25 - 2014-06-01 - 23:44:36- 24:16:11-
Of course 23-24 hours is definitely not right. Probably due to bug(s) in the powercfg utility. The wrong output comes and goes--I just ignore it.

Don't know if the information in the report is useful. I guess it does give some estimate of battery health and battery life under different use conditions.

sorry you didn't like the way the forum formatted the report. i couldn't upload an html file as the forum doesn't allow it. thought pasting the raw text was the best way to go as a shot screen on an sp2 shows very little of the report as a screen grab.

anyway, to be clear - these are the kind of things that i would consider to be spurious:

capacity 3,160,645 mWh
multiple entries from october 13 to july 14 of 167:59:59 uptime
multiple entries of a huge 277,747 mWh full charge capacity against a design capacity of 137,388 mWh
multiple blank entries of battery life estimates

i never saw anything like this with my other sp2. everything made some sort of logical sense. this stuff is as far as i can tell nonsense though i would love that sort of battery capacity!

Hi. I have the same question.

My battery report using powercfg on the Surface Pro 3 is missing Usage history, Battery capacity history, and Battery life estimates. There is no stats under these three settings.

It did contain stats prior to a PC Refresh, needed because of a change inadvertently made to the registry that locked me out of accessing any files.

Anyhow, I just want to get these three sections to display the stats. So how do I reset the battery report stats? An OS Restore?

Please help.

Cheers.

I also did a full OS install from recovery image on Monday evening, since then my report is blank at the "Usage History" and "estimate" sections at the end of the report, everything else above is there.

Weird - any ideas ?
