Samsung TV + Surface 2 widi/miracast?

I recently purchased a Samsung 6 series 2013 tv that supports widi and miracast. Screen mirroring with the Surface 2 is very buggy, sometimes it doesn't detect the tv, and if it does, it usually locks up at the first screen after connecting.

Mirroring with my S3 mobile phone works flawlessly. I've also successfully used the Surface 2 with widi on a LG tv.

So what's the trick to get samsung tv & surface 2 to play along?

Yes, this is an issue. According to information release at MS answers forum they are working in a fix. That said, this is a two sides situation and your hardware may not be compatible with Surface.
