Skydrive and File Manager

Is there a way to add Skydrive to the Desktop File Manager? I'm thinking I may be able to upload screenshots from there.

Yes, create a drive map.

I use Metro Commander for file copies from local storage to SkyDrive, it works well, is free and touch friendly.

Two ways actually -

1. On the command prompt, type NET USE S: https://the-address-of-your-skydrive afterwhich you will be prompted for your username and password, then you can refer to your SkyDrive contents from S:
2. On the File Manager, right-click on Computer and select "Map network drive..." and put in the https://the-address-of-your-skydrive

I have mine Mapped and it makes organizing media, so much quicker. Really shows the power of SkyDrive.

But why do you have to install them? SkyDrive access does not need anything else other than a drive map. We've been doing this for the longest time.

You do have a point, but for many... less technically savvy folks, it's an easy way to do what they need to do. If the OP knew how to map a network drive the question wouldn't have been asked in the first place. Try to remember that a lot of people need an easy point and click automatic way of doing things that some of us take for granted as being "obvious".

Microsoft has pretty much built it's business on that whole idea.
