update 8.1 before installing 10?

buying a refurb SP3 with 8.1 should I do all the 8.1 updates before installing 10? Or just go straight to 10 if allowed. Thanks for any info

My experience was that MSFT offered me the update, than updated 104 files before starting the install of Win 10. Went smoothly from there.
