Wacky battery antics

I bought a SP2 last week and have the same problem described in this thread.

If you bought it new, exchange it for another unit where you bought it.

I actually just received my replacement unit after a nearly two month fiasco. It is in "okay" condition - a couple of scuff marks on the back and the area around the battery connector is scratched and the SN is lower than my current SP2. I'll be checking for this battery problem, but it does not seem widespread.

Well that tears it... SP2 #3 is a bust. It exhibits the same battery wackiness as my current SP2 so it's going straight back to MS. Also, I noticed some backlight bleed-through on the lower left edge and the pen accuracy seem somewhat inferior to my current SP2. Either I am incredibly unlucky, or this problem is much more widespread and people are just not noticing it.

This is getting quite ridiculous. I first started having problems in December (unrelated to the Dec update) and placed my first order for a replacement in January and I still don't a fully functional SP2. Not to mention the unprofessional handling of my case by the "Surface Customer Care Team" members...
