Solved Windows 10 Pro Updates not working

Hello,
on my Surface book I can't open the Windows Update screen and check for updates. the window opens and closes right away.


Anyone having an idea on how to get this working again?

yes everything else is working.

Open settings and search for troubleshooter.
Then select and try to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter:

1. Open Settings > Update & Security.
2. Click on Troubleshoot.
3. Click on “Additional Troubleshooters”
4. Select “Windows Update" option
5. Click on “Run the troubleshooter”

The troubleshooter may find and remedy the problem.

Okay. It seems you must do a system file check and repair. Fortunately, there is a tool to do that.

RUN SYSTEM FILECHECKER AND REPAIR

Click Search

1. Open Start.
2. Search for Command Prompt, right-click the top result, and select the Run as administrator option.
3. Type the following command to repair system files and press Enter:
   sfc /scannow

Let us know if this repairs anything for you.

there are a few issues of files that could not be repaired

It is time to "Reset" Windows 10. You will not lose any of your files in the "Documents" folder, or on OneDrive. However, you will likely have to re-install 3rd party desktop software. You may need to visit Office.com if you are a Microsoft Office subscriber to refresh your Office installation, but all your files will already be there.

Command to Reset Windows 10

1. Click Search
2. Type systemreset then press Enter.
3. Choose the option to "Keep My Files"

damn, than i better completely reset. i have all the company connections etc on the machine

ok i pulled the latest update through the update tool from microsoft and now everything works again
