Got a new one... here's what I'm going to do:
- Install framework 3.5 and Hyper-V
- Uninstall all semi-bloatware (flipboard / skype wifi / news / sports / etc)
- Install Office
- Install VS2013
- Run all the updates

Shut it down and wait for a couple of hours... then turn it on and see.
I would recommend to perform Windows Update first, let it install every updates (it took 3-5 restarts and re-checks) before installing everything else. Especially that youre dealing with software that integrates tightly with Windows, and might not be the software that the SP3 was intended for (after all, Hyper-V disables one SP3 feature), it would be better to let Windows prepare itself first (with updates) for such software.

Problem is that AFTER updates you CAN'T install framework 3.5... It's a well know problem.

Anyway, all is installed and the SP3 is working as expected :)
