highlighting in kindle

I am new to the surface 3 and kindle. Every time I try to highlight a line using my surface pen the page forwards. I will select the text and when I lift the pen off of the tablet the page turns. What am I doing wrong?

No, you're not doing anything wrong; Amazon/Kindle is doing it wrong.

This is a known issue with the Kindle App, which Amazon hasn't fixed. My work-around is to install the regular 'Desktop' Kindle app, which works fine with the Pen. You can create a shortcut for the Desktop Kindle application, and pin it to the Start Screen, for easy access.

Yep, go desktop. Amazon is lazy on this one.
The desktop program was updated two weeks ago with some beautiful new fonts.
