Solved opening attachments broke

Have a new problem......don't know why this has occurred, wasn't a problem before,,,strange. Anyway, when I try to open an email attachment ( any, small or large) it goes to save as mode, with the file type box showing no file extension. I used to be able to open with a double click, why has this changed and how do I get it back to the way it was.

Hi, Microsoft surface tech team helped and resolved. I had to uninstall Outlook and reinstall. that fixed it. Great service, highly recommend. Thanks for your interest.
