setting up exchange on email

are you required to have outlook 365? I can't set up an exchange server on the standard email app. I have searched online and everything points to advanced setting or other settings, but those are not available.

I use MS outlook to get my outlook (exchange) email and work (exchange) email. Never have used the standard mail account as its functionality is too limited for my needs.

Your On Prem Exchange deployment would need to have it's auto-discover capabilities to be enabled so that the mail client can configure it..
