Small silver tool in box

my wife just picked up a surface 3 & there was a small silver tool like unit in the box. Her cat has run off with it, what was it for and can we acquire a new one if needed.

If you mean acquire a new cat, I would not.


It may have been the pen, or additional pen tips (nubs). If so, both are readily available via Amazon.com or the Microsoft Store, etc. The Surface Pen (pictured below with the additional nubs) works great with your Surface 3 Atom. Comes in four colors.

Was it the version of the Surface 3 with LTE? if so it might have been the tool to open the Sim compartment.

You should be able to open the compartment with an alternative tool.
