Type Cover causes Battery to run down

I'd just like to know if anyone else is having this problem. I have a Touch Cover and a Type Cover. When I use the Touch Cover I get great battery life. Using the Type Cover I find battery life is very limited - just a few hours.

If I move the Surface RT it wakes up even though the cover is folded over the screen. If I stand it on end with the charge port up, the screen never goes dark (I can see light coming from the USB port).

Are you running 8.1? If so is Bluetooth enabled? If not, enable it.

Yes, this is with RT 8.1 and Bluetooth is enabled. Again, I do not have this problem with a Touch Cover.

There is a known issue that if Bluetooth is disabled on the Surface RT running the 8.1 beta that battery life is impacted negatively. This is due to the Power Management Driver for the Marvel Card that has WLAN, Bluetooth 4.0 and Miracast on the same chip and without all enabled has struggled controlling the S0iX settings.

I would think a crafty person would be able to come up with another color. Just cover the existing polar fleece with a new piece.
