I'm in Australia so guessing mine came from a different batch again. It started clicking after it was just a few weeks old. I put up with it for a while, but ended up returning it to place of purchase after about 3 months. They contacted Microsoft, who authorised the store to replace my SB keyboard base on the spot. I haven't had any issues with the annoying hinge noise since.
