Finding the Battery Drain

I charged up my SP3 this AM to 100%. Closed lid, headed out at 8:30am.

6.5 hours later, I started my SP3 back up and battery was down to 66%!!!!

Prior to my Windows 10 install, the worst I have dropped was between 5-6%.

Any suggestions or ideas? The machine was sleeping and I did have Cortana activated so I'm wondering if this could be the reason?

Part of the issue is I have no way, that I know of anyway, to tell what was the culprit... my iPhone will tell me what is using the most battery. My Samsung Note would do the same. But not this?

If you're not going to use your computer for over 6 hours, I wonder what would happen if you just leave it powered off or power it off during those 6 some hours.

Where did you get/find the Windows driver ?

Do you know what version of RealTek driver you were using ? (so I can check if I have that one too)

Just forget about it......the same problem happen again. Now I just remove my memory card.

Yeah...I have to do the same thing too. I hope MS rushes out a firmware to fix this ASAP. This is really unacceptable!

I was having the same problem - and I am now testing whether the problem continues after having done the following: (1) I removed the mSD card; (2) I then put it back in; (3) From Device Manager, under Drives, I went to SD Card> Properties and reinstalled the driver.

For the moment my SP3 is quiet and cool. Also, I am testing the effect of this on the battery. Let's see what happens!

Yes! And damn inconvenient too!!!! I have the 128GB SP3 and I have just about half that space empty. I really use my mSD card (and OneDrive) a lot! I hope MS fixes this ASAP!!!!!
