This is a quick look at how you can open up administrative tools to do thing like defrag your tablet. But do we live in an age where you would expect to and have to defrag your tablet and do other PC maintenance things?

I'm surprised that they would allow a defrag of the drive as the general consensus is that doing a defrag on an SSD drive isn't a good idea. For one, it will shorten the life of the drive and generally is considered as over kill on an SSD drive anyway. (now I'm wondering if RT supports TRIM or the drive even supports it in its firmware.

In this video I take a quick look at some of the attributes that define the Surface RT as a pc/tablet hybrid. I jump into desktop mode, use a mouse and use Microsoft Office to do some work. This is where the Surface RT promises to deliver more. Does it do that?

Also curious as to whether or not the SSD in the Surface supports TRIM. I can't imagine that Windows RT wouldn't support TRIM as it's supported in Windows 7, the drive is another question.

I remember one of my customers who purchased some very expensive laptops, quite some time ago, because they had SSD drives. He loved them, for a while anyway. The drives apparently had no TRIM support and looking back he has realized that much of the original performance he gained has gone poof.

Two points here the system is set to perform auto maintenance weekly (task Schedule). Second when you run disk maintenance on the RT it comes up stating it will run Trim because it is an SSD.

In this video I look at how the touchcover always marks your screen when it's closed. A minor thing but a thing nonetheless
